The tracking apps administered by the Qatari government for World Cup attendees are issuing warnings for they are taking up much more data than they appear to. Qatari authorities are potential to have access to users’ phone numbers, photos and videos. CNIL noted that these apps aren’t meeting the General Data Protection (GDPR) requirements.
